The core principle of EDI equipment is actually quite simple: Ion exchange resin "captures" impurity ions in the water, and then an electric field "expels" them. This process is similar to using a magnet to attract iron filings, but EDI uses an electric field, making it more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Ion exchange resin: Adsorbs impurity ions such as sodium and calcium from water like a small sponge.

 

Electric field drive: Direct current forces ions to "queue" through the resin, achieving deep purification.

 

Continuous operation: Unlike traditional methods that require frequent resin replacement, EDI can operate 24 hours a day without interruption.

 

EDI purification process: The EDI process is like a precise dance, completing water purification in three steps:

 

Pretreatment: Water is first filtered and softened to remove large particles and hardness ions, like cleaning the stage for dancers.

 

Ion exchange: Water flows through the resin bed, impurity ions are adsorbed, and pure water flows out from the other side; this is the core purification stage.

 

Electro-regeneration: The electric field "pushes" the ions on the resin to the concentrate chamber, while a small amount of pure water rinses the resin.

 

Self-circulation regeneration: The electric field not only purifies the water but also automatically cleans the resin, allowing the equipment to operate stably for a long time and significantly reducing maintenance costs.

 

EDI's "Superpowers": High Efficiency and Environmental Protection The popularity of EDI equipment stems from two major "superpowers":

 

High-efficiency purification: Removes over 99% of ions, achieving an output water resistivity of up to 18 MΩ·cm (close to the theoretical pure water value).

 

Green and environmentally friendly: No chemical reagents are used throughout the process, no wastewater is generated, and energy consumption is only 1/3 of traditional methods.
