The RO EDI system, based on reverse osmosis (RO) technology and combined with electro-deionization (EDI) deep purification, achieves a dual enhancement in water quality, ultimately producing high-purity water, precisely meeting the needs of high-end water users.
The RO EDI system integrates RO filtration technology with multi-stage refined pretreatment process, effectively intercepting minerals, bacteria, suspended particulate matter, and organic impurities in the water. Without complex processes, it can economically and efficiently convert various water sources, such as river water, lake water, deep well water, and tap water, into ultrapure water.

The water treatment process of an EDI system:
The first component of an RO EDI system is the raw water tank. The pump pressurizes the raw water, forcing it through a quartz sand filter and activated carbon filter to remove suspended solids and colloidal particles, and adsorb organic matter, discoloration, odors, and other impurities, achieving deep purification. The treated water will add softener to reduce hardness and remove calcium and magnesium ions. The water then passes through a precision filter to remove large particles and prevent clogging of the RO membrane. This process constitutes water pretreatment.
The pretreated water is pressurized and pumped into the reverse osmosis system for the first reverse osmosis treatment, achieving desalination, purification, or concentration. Then, a second RO treatment is performed to remove particles, colloids, organic impurities, heavy metal ions, bacteria, viruses, pyrogens, and most dissolved salts.
After reverse osmosis treatment, the water is pressurized again and enters the EDI module to remove electrolytes (including weak electrolytes). Finally, the product water from the EDI module is stored in a pure water tank.

EDI water purification equipment produces ultrapure water, which completely removes ions from the water. Ultrapure water cannot be used directly as drinking water. However, many industries with strict water quality requirements require the use of ultrapure water, such as medical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, scientific research industries, etc.
Our self-produced RO EDI system can consistently deliver high-quality water and feature a high water recovery rate exceeding 60% and efficient energy management design, balancing environmental protection and energy conservation.
We have summarized the selection logic for water treatment system models on our experience: When the salinity of the influent to the EDI module is controlled below 20ppm, the operating efficiency of the EDI module can be significantly improved, its lifespan significantly extended, and subsequent maintenance costs reduced.
To ensure optimal system performance, we rigorously select high-quality core components for our RO EDI systems-prioritizing Dow Filmtec reverse osmosis membranes and IonPure or GE brand EDI modules. This ensures stable system operation from the source, guaranteeing that every drop of water meets high standards!
